ALASKA TRIP

HELLO!! havent blog for quite a bit but i think this time is the 1st time i attempt to post so many pics in one sitting!

DAY 0

Spent the whole day flying�

Singapore-Taipei-Vancouver

DAY 1

Already night time when we reached because of the time difference..

Random interesting thing: Ate our 1st meal at MAC! and the receipt number was 55501! so cool!! haha. i think only sam and feli will understand..

Stayed at a place called Howard Johnson.. Kinda got a shock cos the outside was sort of not nice.. but luckily the inside was pretty nice. turns out they were having renovation work done on the outside.. LOTS OF CLUBS AT NIGHT!! 0.o

DAY 2

Breakfast at Pita Express.. The person has such a glib tongue!! He�s so good at selling his food that there�s such a long queue. hahaha. but it looks good too! so didnt regret buying =)

Also went to Granville Island. Sounds like a very tourist sort of place but its actually really great to visit!! The market has lots of things to eat, and the boutique shops sell v unique stuff, not like the other tourist destinations. Only problem is its v easy to get lost(which we did)..

For dinner we decided to go to Chinatown.. Super disappointing.. The food is seriously horrible la.. And there�s ntg much to do there..

DAY 3

Went to Capilano Suspension Bridge in the afternoon..

Went to Grouse Mountain in the evening to watch the sunset.. We booked some sort of tour where they�ll bring u from ur hotel up to grouse mountain and then back again.. but apparantly we were the only ppl to have booked it, so we got the entire trolley to ourselves!! and the driver even brought us to buy doughnuts..

DAY 4

Tooked a charter bus to Seattle from our hotel. It was those small 11 seater van for the 4 of us only! But my sis reached the bus earlier than me so she took the last row where she could lie down and sleep!! (p.s. she rolled down when the bus braked)

Finally reached Double Tree Hotel in the afternoon.. Managed to use the net for the 1st time on the trip! (i don wanna spend a dollar a minute using pay-as-u-use services.. haha. cheapo =p)

Did nothing else that day cos it was a airport hotel and pretty far from town..

 

DAY 5

 

Took a morning flight to Anchorage,Alaska..

Had a wonderful lunch at O.R.S.A. They have great fish and chips!!

And then from Anchorage we had to commute AGAIN to get to the Mt McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge (where we becama addicted to tv channel usa)..

DAY 6

FINALLY, the actual Alaska trip begins!! Our first activity was the Mt McKinley Summit Flight!! Took a small little plane and flew up to the summit. 20320 feet above sea level! we even had to use oxygen masks! The view up there was really stunning! And we saw Mt Mckinley upclose. The pictures really cant do the sights any justice cos we were sitting at the wing and it was hard to take pictures..

DAY 7

Took a bus to Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. ITs actually kinda confusing cos Denali is the same at Mt McKinley. They are just different names used by different ppl. But this lodge is located in the Denali National Park(which used to be called Mt McKinley National Park).

Went Whitewater rafting!!! SO FUN!! too bad i didnt buy a waterproof camera, then can record the whole thing!!

DAY 8

Went to Denali National Park..

Visited the sled dogs

Also went on a natural history tour.. Was sort of hoping to see more bears and mooses but mostly saw hares and squirrels. From far we could also see dall sheep and goats. which reminds me, i need a better pair of binoculars!!! OH! and we also saw a lynx.. but i was too slow to take a picture of it.

I LOVE MY NEW EXTERNAL HDD!! so im gonna promote it to EVERYBODY HERE!! haha

Isnt it REALLY PRETTY?? they come in 11 colours!!
-easy to use, no cds needed to install
-its quite light
-the USB light is almost unnoticeable but still a v pretty white colour, and
-the back is not ugly at all!

i think the max is 500GB, maybe more. but i only bought 320GB, effective space is 297GB. so pretty~~~ btw, im not going gaga cos its pink k. look at the other colours!!

it suddenly dawned upon me the meaning of "happy birthday".. like u know, must have a really fun and explosive day on that day called ur birthday.. then i felt a little odd that ppl are wishing me happy bday, but my bday was pretty normal.. like dinner and cake cos i chose to spend it w my family instead. haha, i think im thinking way too much.. but there were some pleasing surprises (and some not so pleasing shocks) this bday =)

im finally 19!! BUT, there arent much changes to my life just cos im 19. haha. not like 16(can watch nc16), 17(SWEET 17 but its useless), 18(M18 and driving and club), 20(the BIG 2), or 21(casino? although at 18 can enter some casino aldy!) haha, i just realised 19 is an awkward age!

anw, thanks to those who sms-ed me or wished me on facebook! special thanks(and congrats? haha) to JN for being the first(that i saw)! =)

AND happy bday to zhengmin, simon, fiona, and adrian! fellow 1712s =) i found 1712s in pri, sec and uni! but not jc >.<
